He told Pravda :
“It’s the wish of me and the club [for me to stay].
“I don’t know about any particular offer, I have no reason to leave, and I don’t think Inter would sell me anyway.
“I also love the fact that we’ll play in the Champions League, I’m looking forward to it.” 17:14 KEY EVENT Griezmann ‘update’
Antoine Griezmann is being advised to snub a move to Barcelona by his France teammates, according to Don Balon.
It is claimed that there are fears Griezmann would struggle at the Nou Camp, with Luis Suarez determined to keep his place as the main striker and Lionel Messi in full support of his Uruguayan teammate.
Griezmann is under increasing pressure to stay at Atletico but United and City are both said to be monitoring his situation.
The report claims Mourinho has promised Griezmann he will be United’s star player if he opts to make the move to Old Trafford. Antoine Griezmann’s future is up in the air 16:46 Ronaldo’s mum would prefer United return
Cristiano Ronaldo’s mum has said she would prefer her son to join Manchester United over PSG.
In an interview with French TV, Dolores Aveiro said:
“I like Paris. I come every now and again. The last time was when my son received the Ballon d’Or. It was a great honour. when I arrived I was treated well by everyone.
“Convince Cristiano to sign for PSG? To be honest, it wouldn’t annoy me [if he did], but I would prefer him to return to Manchester United.” 16:27 Dalot’s injury
United will be signing an injured player in Diogo Dalot.
Portuguese outlet O Jogo, per SportWitness, say Dalot is yet to fully recover from knee surgery which kept him out of Porto’s final three fixtures of the season.
He is expected to have fully recovered by mid-July which means he would be available for United’s pre-season tour of America. Diogo Dalot recently had knee surgery 16:15 KEY EVENT Arnautovic’s price tag revealed

Jose Mourinho and Arnautovic worked together at Inter Milan. 15:49 KEY EVENT Milinkovic-Savic ‘tells friends his next club’
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has reportedly told his friends which club he will sign for this summer – and it’s bad news for United fans.
It is claimed by Il Bianconero, per Calciomercato, that Lazio midfielder Milinkovic-Savic has informed pals that he’ll be joining Juventus.
MEN Sport understands United are interested in the player but deem Lazio’s valuation of him too high. Milinkovic-Savid in training with Serbia ahead of the World Cup 15:31 United ‘to battle Chelsea for Alba’
Manchester United could battle Chelsea for the signature of Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba.
A Sun report says Alba, 29, is frustrated at not being offered an extension to his contract in Catalonia.
He has two years left to run on his current deal. 15:21
The United striker’s latest Instagram story is superb… 15:02 Ex-United star urges Mourinho to change tactics
Jose Mourinho has been urged to switch up his tactics and play a more attacking brand of football by former United favourite Lee Sharpe.
“For me it was a pretty disappointing season and not entertaining enough,” Sharpe told Press Association Sport.
“There are clubs with certain identities and United have never been a 1-0 team that sits back and rests on its laurels.
“You’ve got the blue side of Manchester under Pep, you’ve got Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool playing some of the best football in the league and United are playing slow, pragmatic, boring and even dated football.
“Maybe it’s time Mourinho reassess things tactically. He’s been one of the most successful managers in the game over 10-12 years, trophies everywhere he’s gone, so I can understand him saying, ‘I’m doing it my way’.
“But times have changed and if it doesn’t start well next season he could find himself under pressure from the fans.” Lee Sharpe has told Mourinho to change his tactics 14:53 KEY EVENT Lukaku refutes Mourinho’s FA Cup final claim
Romelu Lukaku has rejected Jose Mourinho’s claim that it was the player’s decision to start the FA Cup final on the bench.
Lukaku struggled with an ankle injury in the build-up to the Wembley showpiece and only managed a substitute appearance in the defeat by Chelsea.
After the match United boss Mourinho said that it was Lukaku’s call to start on the bench but the Belgian striker says that wasn’t the case.
“Of course [I wanted to start], I was but I didn’t look good in training at all. It was a difficult situation and me and the manager had a conversation and he’s the one that made the decision.
“At the end of the day we had a conversation after the game where we were both disappointed that we lost the game and I said to him that I am looking forward to next season to see the team that he is going to prepare for next year to hopefully challenge Manchester City.
“Everybody’s now thinking that me and the manager have a big issue or something but it’s not like that. Me and the manager have a perfect relationship. We had a little chat after the game and everything is all clear.” Lukaku started the FA Cup final defeat by Chelsea on the bench (Image: Getty Images Europe) 14:38 Chelsea’s message to Anthony Martial
A report in The Daily Mail claims Chelsea are hopeful of resolving their managerial situation by the end of next week.
The article says Antonio Conte is expected to be dismissed, with ex-Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri leading the race to replace him.
United forward Anthony Martial is said to be on Chelsea’s wishlist this summer.
And it is claimed that Chelsea have been in touch with Martial’s representatives to tell them that a decision on who the club’s manager will be next season will soon be made. 14:30
Some words from the United forward.
Not quite sure why every word is capped up. 13:57 Lingard feels ‘more comfortable’ playing for England
Jesse Lingard has revealed that he feels more comfortable playing for England than Manchester United.
He told GQ , per ESPN :
“I actually feel more comfortable when I play for England than United. Every game, you’ve got to play with no fear.”
On the World Cup itself, Lingard added:
“It’s one of the pinnacles of your career as a player and it will be my first World Cup so I’ve got to enjoy every minute, whether I start or if I’ve got to make an impact from the bench.
“And I do think we will do well because of the team spirit we’ve got.” Jesse Lingard (left) 13:49 How United could still sign Justin Kluivert
Dutch starlet Justin Kluivert has looked Roma-bound for some time now but the move is yet to be completed.
And now a report by Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport is saying that the transfer might not happen at all.
It is claimed that Roma will only be able to sign Kluivert if either Diego Perotti or Stephan El Sharaawy leaves the club.
If Perotti and El Shaarawy both end up staying put, that will open the door for another club to sign the 19-year-old.
United have previously been linked with Kluivert, who is leaving Ajax this summer after rejecting a new contract. MEN Sport revealed earlier today that Joel Pereira wants to leave the club on loan next season.
We understand clubs from both Serie A and La Liga are interesting in acquiring his services.
While Pereira has made it clear that he is keen on a move away from Old Trafford, he has no desire to quit the club permanently. Joel Pereira is keen to leave United on loan 13:11 More from De Gea
In an interview with MUTV, David de Gea was asked if he is pleased with the progress he has made with United and Spain ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
This was his response:
“Of course, that’s absolutely right. Being able to pull on the Spanish national team shirt at a World Cup is something really special.
“It’s unbelievable and I’m just so keen for it all to get under way, both the games themselves and all the emotion, and let’s hope we can make the entire country really happy.” De Gea will be Spain’s No1 at this summer’s World Cup 13:01 Bale ‘willing to accept pay cut’ to seal Spurs return
A report by The Independent’s Miguel Delaney says Gareth Bale is willing to take a cut on his huge Real Madrid wages to seal a return to Tottenham.
Bale has been heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League after he admitted he will be considering his future in the Spanish capital after Saturday’s Champions League final.
It is claimed that Bale is “very open” to the possibility of going back to Spurs and that the club are prepared to offer him wages of around £200,000 a week. 12:47 Mourinho ‘wants to swap Pogba for Bale’
A report in Spain says Jose Mourinho is keen to offer Paul Pogba to Real Madrid in exchange for Gareth Bale.
The outlandish claim comes from Don Balon, so it’s wise to take it with a pinch of salt.
The report says Madrid president Florentino Perez is only interested in accepting a cash offer for the Welshman and won’t entertain any kind of swap deal. No deal: Madrid won’t accept a Pogba-Bale swap offer, according to a report in Spain 12:16 Rashford relaxing on England duty

Royal honeymoon rumoured for Jasper, Alta., resort | CBC News

Royal honeymoon rumoured for Jasper, Alta., resort Notifications Learn more about the new look . Royal honeymoon rumoured for Jasper, Alta., resort Rumours are swirling that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will honeymoon at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, but the resort says nothing is “currently booked.” The last time a royal couple swept through the Rockies, their stay at a prime lodge was kept mum CBC News · Posted: May 28, 2018 6:37 PM MT | Last Updated: May 29 The sumptuous lodge has a long association with Canada’s kings and queens.0:36
Rumours are swirling that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will honeymoon at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, but the resort says nothing is “currently booked.”
On Monday, the gossip site TMZ reported the newly married couple were planning to stay at a luxurious six-bedroom cabin in Alberta’s tourist hot spot.
But the rumours that have been tweeted, reported, and talked about from Alberta to London, and everywhere in between, could mark a rocky start to the trip.
Angela Moore, a spokesperson for the resort in Jasper National Park, said “the couple is not currently booked for a stay.”
And hoteliers that have hosted royal couples in the past say privacy is the prime concern when it comes to a royal visit. The Outlook Cabin at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, also known as the Royal Retreat, was recreated from the floor plans of the 1930 original.(Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge) Secrecy key to success
William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, stayed during their first royal tour as a married couple in 2011 at the Skoki Lodge in Alberta.
“The challenge for us was to see if we could pull it off without anyone finding out — and we did,” said Dan Markham, communications director for Lake Louise Ski Resort, which owns Skoki Lodge.
Their sojourn at Skoki Lodge was unknown to most of the world, until the royals had completed most of their stay in the remote and pristine alpine meadow.
The story eventually surfaced after a prior guest told a Globe and Mailreporter that he saw construction crews installing a toilet and bathroom at the remote lodge.
Someone admitted it was for an upcoming visit by some very, very important people.
Markham said just a handful of people at the family-owned ski resort knew about William and Kate’s visit. Then they had to co-ordinate with the office of protocol for the royal family.
That’s where the directive for indoor plumbing originated.
“It was the protocol office that says any royal at a certain level must have these certain things available to them,” Markham said. No official booking
Jasper officials did not confirm that Harry and Meghan were scheduled to honeymoon there. “While we greatly appreciate the interest in our beautiful destination, and though Jasper and the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge have a long-standing history of serving as a royal retreat, we can confirm that the couple is not currently booked for a visit,” wrote James Jackson, the general manager of Tourism Jasper. But the Outlook Cabin, also known as the Royal Retreat, has hosted royalty in the past.
King George VI and Queen Elizabeth stayed there in 1939. The cabin was destroyed by fire in 2000, but was rebuilt according to the original floor plans from 1930.
In 2005, the Queen and Prince Philip also stayed at the cabin. Rumour creates a local buzz
At the Jasper Planetarium on Monday, general manager Peter McMahon said his staff has noticed “additional helicopter activity lately.”
McMahon speculated the unusual number of helicopters could be for Parks Canada or tourism, but it could also indicate a pending visit from a high-profile guest. “It certainly bears out what could be happening in terms of staff scouting out locations for things,” McMahon said. “If there is going to be a royal honeymoon here, what’s more romantic than the Canadian Rockies?” Sylvie Walsh, owner of Bombshell Boutique in Jasper, says that if Meghan Markle visits her shop she would take the opportunity to show her some Canadian designers. (CBC)
Sylvie Walsh, owner of Bombshell Boutique, said she woke up to a text from a friend alerting her to the Jasper rumour. Walsh said she would be overjoyed if the Duchess of Sussex visited her shop.
“I would obviously be thrilled to have her in the store, being a celebrity with some connections to Canada. It’s always wonderful to have someone like that in the shop,” Walsh said.
“I’d be keen to show her all of our amazing Canadian designers that we are thrilled to showcase here at the boutique.” ‘World’s most boring place’?
Meanwhile, a New York Post Page Six headline describing Jasper, Alta., as the “world’s most boring place” has drawn the ire of social media users.
The jab topped an article about the honeymoon rumours.
Fans of the picturesque getaway took to Twitter to defend the mountain town and chastise the Post’s gossip column for being unfair.
One Twitter user by the name of Isabel Horvath, with the handle @Izzzywith3zees, felt compelled to speak for the entire country: “We in Canada are not amused,” says the tweet.
The royal couple have not revealed their travel plans, or said when they would go on a honeymoon. They married May 19 at Windsor Castle.

Why did Fox News attack Michelle Wolf’s new Netflix show

Michelle Wolf on her new Netflix show (Photo: Netflix) More Michelle Wolf’s new Netflix show, The Break With Michelle Wolf, premiered over Memorial Day weekend. It wasn’t a very auspicious debut; Wolf’s standup comedy was OK but not hilarious, and her taped segments demonstrated a tendency to repeat the same joke over and over. You’d think that all the folks who got so upset with Wolf for her performance at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner would be happy, eager to leave Wolf where she is, tucked away where only curious Netflix subscribers will find her. But no. The snowflakes on Fox & Friends spent a segment on Tuesday morning decrying Wolf as “vile” and “cruel.” Why? Because she made a few more jokes about Correspondents’ Dinner target Sarah Sanders, and added a few new ones about Gina Haspel, President Trump’s recently approved head of the CIA. Haspel, you’ll recall, faced resistance from some in Congress over her involvement with the CIA’s use of torture. Among Wolf’s jokes: “I didn’t watch the swearing-in, but I hear it was torture” and “the first woman head of the CIA — that’s great! Who knew you could waterboard a glass ceiling until it broke?” As for Sanders, Wolf called the White House press secretary a “hypocrite,” and then said, “That was not a looks-based joke — it was about her ugly personality.” Not exactly shocking material, right? Wrong, if you’re a Fox News personality. Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt appeared upset, asking, “Who’s going to watch this show — it’s so negative! ” Guest talking-head Kayleigh McEnany, whom I had hoped had been put on ice after her nonstop cable-news appearances during Donald Trump’s election campaign, was defrosted just enough so that she could ask, rhetorically and nonsensically, “Where do liberals celebrate their women?” She characterized Wolf’s material as evidence of “a very angry, militant type of feminism,” and said Wolf vilifies people in “a malicious, angry, vile way.” McEnany called upon Wolf to “put the vile, comedic jokes aside.” In other words, stop being a comedian. As usual, Fox News roots under every nook and cranny to find some bit of pop culture to be offended about. The “fair and balanced” network didn’t bother to mention that Wolf, in that same segment, also ridiculed an MSNBC host, Stephanie Ruhle. And Fox & Friends wrapped up this segment by having co-host Earhardt say with tremulous earnestness, “She does have the right to have a show, and we have the right not to watch it.” So don’t watch it already, and stop obsessing over it. The Break With Michelle Wolf is streaming now on Netflix. Fox & Friends airs weekdays at 6 a.m. on Fox News. Read more from Yahoo Entertainment:

Manchester City transfer news LIVE Riyad Mahrez updates and Neymar news

Manchester City transfer news LIVE Riyad Mahrez updates and Neymar news

Sport Manchester City transfer news LIVE Riyad Mahrez latest and Gareth Bale updates Man City manager Pep Guardiola continues his preparations for next season but who will they sign in the summer transfer window?
Manchester City will be looking to get their transfer priorities sorted as they plan for next season.
The club football calendar is officially done for another year after Real Madrid’s defeat of Liverpool – which has a knock-on effect for Pep Guardiola’s side in next year’s Champions League.
The last Premier League team was also confirmed at the weekend when Fulham beat Aston Villa in the Championship play-off final.
City want to add to their title-winning squad and Jorginho and Riyad Mahrez have been identified as priority signings . While the sooner players can be brought in the better, neither of those two will be at the World Cup this summer.
The Blues have also been given hope over Kylian Mbappe, who made such a striking impression on Guardiola when he helped Monaco to the Champions League semi-finals in 2017.
Stick with us as we bring you all the news and transfer reports LIVE. Key Events City’s ‘stance’ on Bale
Manchester City are not interested in rivalling United for Gareth Bale’s signature this summer.
That’s according to this report in The Guardian, anyway, which says the Welshman is not on Pep Guardiola’s radar.
Bale is in the headlines after his post-Champions League final interview, in which he suggested he is willing to leave Real Madrid in search of regular game time.
“I need to be playing week in week out and that hasn’t happened this season for one reason or another,” Bale told BT Sport after the game.
“I had about a five or six week injury at start of season and I have been fit since.
“Obviously now I will have to sit down in the summer and discuss it with my agent and take it from there.” Gareth Bale is reportedly not on City’s radar 16:50 16:00 The latest from City’s World Cup stars
Germany’s Leroy Sane and France’s Benjamin Mendy have been in social media action over the last couple of hours as they continue their preparations for the World Cup.
Meanwhile Aymeric Laporte, who isn’t in France’s squad for the tournament, has tweeted a picture of him with a birthday cake. He turned 24 on Sunday. 15:13 Stuart Brennan City keen on Mbappe
Manchester City are ready to compete for Kylian Mbappe if Paris St Germain are forced to abort their plan to sign him this summer.
With Uefa apparently ready to hit the French giants with a financial fair play (FFP) charge, there are serious doubts over whether they can afford the projected £127million initial outlay for the 19-year-old striker.
The suggestion is that PSG will have to either abandon their plan to sign on-loan Mbappe, or sell Brazil superstar Neymar this summer.
City are in the market for a top attacker, and would be more interested in Mbappe than Neymar. 14:21 Arteta a candidate for La Liga manager’s job
Mikel Arteta is reported to be in the frame for the manager’s job at Girona.
The City coach was expected to be named as Arsene Wenger’s replacement at Arsenal earlier this month but the Gunners performed a dramatic U-turn and appointed Unai Emery instead.
Now SPORT are saying that Girona, who are part-owned by the City Football Group, are eyeing Arteta.
However, it is claimed that he will only get the job if Domenec Torrent, Guardiola’s right-hand man at City, decides he doesn’t want it.
Either way, City could be losing a member of their coaching staff to Girona this summer. Mikel Arteta could be off to Girona 13:41 City ‘to hold talks with Galatasaray’ over transfer
City defender Jason Denayer could make his move to Galatasaray permanent in the coming weeks.
A report by Turkish-Football says the two clubs will hold talks next week in an attempt to thrash out a deal.
Denayer spent the 2017-18 season on loan at Gala, helping the club to the Super Lig title. Jason Denayer (right) looks set to leave City permanently 13:14 KEY EVENT Pep: Sarri “one of the strongest ever”
Former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri is reportedly close to replacing Antonio Conte at Chelsea and Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the 59-year-old.
Napoli and City served up two thrilling group-stage games in the Champions League earlier in the season, with City narrowly coming out on top in both.
Despite Sarri’s failure to win a trophy during his managerial career, Guardiola is a huge admirer.
“He is one of the strongest ever,” Guardiola said, speaking to RMC Sport Network over the weekend.
“We judge on what we’ve won, but the football shown by Napoli this season is a toast to the sun. He did very well. To see Napoli play is a show, a pleasure.” Mutual respect: Sarri and Guardiola 12:31 City and United ‘fail with bids for Inter defender’
City and United are both reported to have been knocked back with bids of €60million for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.
The 23-year-old joined Inter from Sampdoria last summer and impressed in his debut season as Inter sealed a top-four finish and a return to the Champions League for the first time in seven years.
It is claimed by Corriere dello Sport that City and United were hopeful of taking advantage of Inter’s Financial Fair Play plight, with the club needing to raise around €40million before the end of May to avoid Uefa sanctions.
However, Inter are said to have stood firm and are determined to keep hold of Skriniar. Going nowhere: Skriniar 12:04 Walker’s birthday tweet
The City right-back turns 28 today – and he’s tweeted this picture of himself alongside Kieron Dyer, who, oddly, Walker claims was his favourite player when he was growing up (we don’t believe you, Kyle).
John Stones and Phil Foden are also celebrating their birthdays today, as they turn 24 and 18 respectively. 11:24 Guardiola reveals Serie A favourite
In an interview with Italian outlet RMC Sport Network this weekend, Pep Guardiola was asked which Serie A player he would most like to join him at City.
Interestingly, the Spaniard plumped for AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci over Napoli midfielder Jorginho, who City are expected to sign in the coming weeks.
“In every league there are good players… maybe (Leonardo) Bonucci, but he is tied to Milan,” Guardiola said.
“I don’t want to answer questions about the transfer market.”
In 2016 Guardiola described Bonucci as “one of my favourite ever players” after his Bayern side had knocked Bonucci’s Juventus out of the Champions League.
A Calciomercato report from yesterday said Bonucci will be allowed to leave Milan if an impending Financial Fair Play sanction against the club rules them out of playing in next season’s Europa League. Guardiola is a big fan of AC Milan and Italy defender Leonardo Bonucci Mbappe interest
Some interesting stories around PSG emerging at the weekend. The story behind THAT photo
Kyle Walker’s Princess Parkway dream came true.
“Me and John were saying in the first week of training: ‘Imagine driving down Princess Parkway actually being Premier League champions.
“And we did it. We’re all close, especially the English lads. We all have each other’s backs through good and bad so that was a photo just to say: ‘We’ve done it as friends’.” Good morning

Roman Abramovich , the billionaire owner of Chelsea football club, has been granted Israeli citizenship and will move to Tel Aviv, an Israeli government spokesperson has said.
Abramovich had faced unusually long delays in renewing his UK visa, which had expired, sources told the Reuters news agency. The British government has declined to comment on his case.
Israel ’s interior ministry confirmed the offer of citizenship on a local television station on Monday. “Roman Abramovich arrived at the Israeli embassy in Moscow like any other person,” an Israeli government spokesperson told Channel 10 . “He filed a request to receive an immigration permit, his documents were checked according to the law of return, and he was indeed found eligible.”
Abramovich’s spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.
According to the Ynet website, which belongs to Israel’s biggest selling daily newspaper, Yedioth Aharonoth, Abramovich flew to Tel Aviv on Monday and received documents confirming his status as an Israeli citizen. He has reportedly bought a property in the city.

Abramovich, who is Jewish and has been a regular visitor to Israel, has donated millions to Israeli research and development projects and invested in local firms . Ynet said he had bought a former hotel in Tel Aviv, on the Mediterranean coast.
Israel’s media has speculated for days that the businessman was seeking citizenship. The Times of Israel said Abramovich would be exempt from paying tax in Israel for 10 years and would not need to explain the sources of his wealth in that time. Worth £8.6bn, according to Forbes magazine, Abramovich would instantly become the richest Israeli.
It is believed the British government would have required some financial disclosures if Abramovich’s UK visa was to be renewed.
There have also been suggestions that Abramovich fell foul of tighter regulations imposed in 2015. His failure to secure a new tier 1 visa, which allows anyone who invests more than £2m in the British economy to stay for 40 months, comes at a time of heightened tensions between the Russian and UK governments.
Relations have been strained since the poisoning of the former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury in March, an act Britain has blamed on Russia but in which the Kremlin denies any involvement.
Skripal case: Salisbury tries to return to business as usual Read more
The UK’s foreign secretary, Boris Johnson , hinted last week that the UK could take action against Russian oligarchs in the wake of the poisoning of the Skripals.
Johnson said it would be “totally wrong” to discuss the case of Abramovich, who is a friend of Vladimir Putin . But he added: “There is a broader question about what the UK can do to crack down on people close to Putin who may have illicit or ill-gotten wealth. As you know, we have statute that allows us to use unexplained wealth orders against them, but we live under the rule of law so whatever happens must be done in accordance with the rules and the law.”
Johnson added that the more stringent approach to Russian oligarchs adopted by the US had been effective. He said: “The truth is actually that I think the effect of some of those sanctions, particularly on some individuals, has been very marked and I’ve noted that, but we have our own systems and our own approach and we have to do it in accordance with the law and accordance with the evidence.”

There is no suggestion that Abramovich has been involved in any wrongdoing.
The Russian foreign ministry had criticised the British government over the delays in his visa application process, saying: “It’s obvious that, for the British government, both visas and the regulation of the media sphere are instruments of politics.”
Last week, Roman Borisovich, a Russian anti-corruption campaigner , said the Russian ambassador to the UK’s suggestion that oligarchs who had similar problems could take their cases to court was unlikely.
“The last thing these guys want is to have a public hearing in the UK. They would have to answer questions like ‘how did you make your money’ and ‘are you the real owner of your assets’? Plus ‘are you a conduit for the Russian regime or an instrument for meddling in other countries?’”

Edmonton man builds apocalypse-ready ‘Tankentruck’ News

Randy Thibeault is confident his truck could survive the apocalypse.
Lovingly named Tankentruck, the big black-and-neon rig roars and sputters like a race car, and looks like it drove straight off the set of Maximum Overdrive.
The modified truck was inspired by Thibeault’s love of the man-against-machine Stephen King classic, and other dystopian films where steel and chrome loom large.
He said his mean ride would win a battle against the zombie-proof tanks of the Walking Dead series, and the desert war machines of Mad Max.
Zombie study shows Alberta Rockies are best place to survive
“Once I’m in the truck, have fun knocking me off, because I’ll run over everything,” Thibeault said with a chuckle. Randy Thibeault has been working on his camper-truck contraption for nearly a decade.
“I think I would take them both on at the same time.”
The truck is built from an old farm pickup equipped with a flatbed camper. But its other modifications are unusual.
The interior is wired with more than 60 electrical plugs for Thibeault’s power tools. The exterior has been clad with matte black, menacing neon-green and macabre knick-knacks like skulls. It runs on a full-power racing engine.
“Sometimes people look at it like it’s a piece of junk,” he said. “I get one per cent like that. And other people want to take pictures.”
‘I keep adding pieces’
The Edmonton man has spent thousands of dollars, and more than eight years, working on various iterations his design. The first version was ripped apart in the 1987 tornado. Others were scrapped because they just didn’t look right.
Is the pickup truck Alberta’s unofficial-official vehicle? Thibeault used a modelling program at the Edmonton Public Library’s Makerspace to come up with his latest blueprints.
“I keep adding pieces to it, because I know what I want to do with it,” Thibeault said.
“I need a tool box but I also need a camper, and between the two I had to figure it out. It’s more of a toolbox than it is a camper.”
‘Beefing the truck right up’ While Thibeault is confident his truck could withstand the end of the world, it can only drive for about three kilometres before the engine sputters out. He used a modelling program at the Edmonton Public Library’s Makerspace to come up with his latest blueprints. (Randy Thibeault)
The rig is currently parked near his home in north Edmonton, but he wants to get it fully road-ready for a cross-country trip.
“Another eight grand or another ten grand, anywhere in there will suit me fine,” he said.
After eight years spending his summers as a landscaper and excavator driver in Fort McMurray, he’s ready to ease up the throttle on his working life.
“I’m going home. I’m going to be 57 here next month and I’m done,” Thibeault said.
“That’s why I’m beefing the truck right up. I’m putting heavy-duty springs on it. I’ve got to find a gas tank. I need 163 gallons to go home, back to Ontario.
“It’s one trip. It’s four days, and I’m going to take it easy.”

Of the six possible candidates named by Sen. Francis Pangilinan as being considered to form part of a “Resistance” coalition in the 2019 senatorial elections, Agot Isidro’s name stood out.
Said Pangilinan, when asked to elaborate on the choices by ANC “Headstart” host Karen Davila: “In one of those meetings [we had] on issues affecting the country, we asked [Agot] if she was open [to the idea of being drafted]. She was hesitant. But then we said we need more women to step up. And she said, ‘OK, you can consider it, but let me think about it also.’ So we’re still convincing her.”
Isidro “would be a good fit for the Senate as a representative of the arts and culture sector,” Pangilinan said of the movie and TV actress who holds a Master’s degree in Communication from Ateneo. ADVERTISEMENT
The outspoken Isidro went viral when she described President Rodrigo Duterte as a “psychopath.”
